Bank statement to Tally XML converter — TallyPrime import
This page is the high-intent guide for converting Indian bank statement PDFs into TallyPrime / Tally.ERP 9 Payment and Receipt XML. It is not the same article as the homepage or the generic Tally overview: it focuses on voucher XML, Suspense fallback, and Import → Transactions.
What you get in the XML
Each dated bank row becomes a voucher. Debits (withdrawals) are Payment vouchers; credits (deposits) are Receipt vouchers. With ledger suggest on, the opposing ledger is the matched party (or Suspense A/c).
What you do not get
Jemsky does not remote-control Tally, does not store the bank PDF, and does not invent GST ledgers you never imported. Master.json/xml is optional and stores names you already have in Tally.
Versus Excel
Use this XML path when Day Book must be posted. Use Excel when you need a working paper first. Many firms do both from one convert.
