ICICI Bank statement PDF to Excel & Tally XML
Convert ICICI Bank (ICICI) bank statement PDFs with Jemsky’s dedicated parser — not a renamed homepage and not generic OCR. This page documents the layouts we actually ship, the quirks that break other converters, and examples CAs see in the wild.
ICICI Bank is the bank where a ‘one geometry’ converter fails hardest. Retail savings, corporate Detailed Statement, Neuroaxis-style current accounts, and an older DATE MODE PARTICULARS savings layout all appear in CA inboxes — sometimes from the same client in different months.
Jemsky inspects page 1 for Saving Account no., Detailed Statement / Tran ID, Statement of transactions from, or DATE MODE** PARTICULARS, then dispatches to the matching ICICI strategy. Corporate dates like 01-Jul-2026 become DD/MM/YYYY; retail often uses DD.MM.YYYY.
Retail narrations are the usual breakage: UPI text sits above the date/amount line and bank-name wraps (Of I/, Bank Of I/) sit below. The parser assigns wraps by midpoint between date anchors so you do not get orphan ‘Bank Of I/’ rows in Tally.
After parse, Opening + Deposits − Withdrawals = Closing is checked. Export Excel for review or Tally XML with party-ledger suggest. ICICI PDFs are not archived on Jemsky.
Statement formats the ICICI parser recognizes
- Retail savings: S No., Transaction Date, Cheque Number, Remarks, Withdrawal, Deposit, Balance (DD.MM.YYYY)
- Corporate Detailed Statement: Tran ID, Value Date, Transaction Date, Cheque/RefNo, Withdrawl (Dr), Deposit (Cr)
- Neuroaxis / current net-banking: Transaction ID, Cheque No, Description, Withdrawal (Dr), Deposit (Cr)
- Savings ‘DATE MODE PARTICULARS’ with deposits printed before withdrawals
Parser quirks specific to ICICI
- Four mutually exclusive layouts; page-1 keys (Saving Account no., Detailed Statement, Tran ID, DATE MODE**) pick the plugin.
- Retail remarks wrap above and below the amount row; row bands use the next date top − 6 pt.
- Corporate cells may print NA; those become empty instead of the string NA in Excel.
- One savings variant lists DEPOSITS left of WITHDRAWALS — swapped vs most Indian banks.
Example narrations and how they export
- UPI/ICIC/… plus Bank Of I/ wrap — Wrap-only lines attach to the prior UPI; B/F bleed rows are skipped.
- Tran ID + Value Date — Corporate detailed statements keep Tran ID separate from narration.
- NA in cheque cell — Exported as blank, not the letters NA.
CA workflow on ICICI files
Ask ICICI clients whether the PDF is retail savings or corporate Detailed Statement before blaming the converter. If Tran ID is on page 1, you want the corporate path. If MODE** and DEPOSITS appear left of WITHDRAWALS, that is the fourth layout — Jemsky handles the column swap.
Exports and privacy
Every successful convert can download Excel (.xlsx), CSV, and TallyPrime / Tally.ERP 9 Payment and Receipt XML. Customer statement bytes never land in Jemsky’s database. Optional Tally Party Ledger Masters store ledger names you import — not this bank’s PDF.
- Open the converter and upload the ICICI PDF.
- Leave Auto Detect on unless you know the exact layout name.
- Confirm the financial audit equation matches the printed closing balance.
- Export Excel for the working paper and/or Tally XML.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a ICICI Bank statement PDF to Excel?
Upload the ICICI e-statement on jemsky.com/app. Auto Detect should pick the ICICI plugin. Review Opening + Deposits − Withdrawals = Closing, then download Excel, CSV, or Tally XML. The PDF is parsed in RAM and discarded.
Can I import ICICI Bank statements into TallyPrime?
Yes. Export Tally XML and use Import → Transactions. Optional: import Master.json/xml and enable ledger suggest so ICICI UPI/NEFT rows map to party ledgers instead of Suspense A/c.
Does Jemsky store ICICI Bank statement data?
No. ICICI Bank PDFs are not archived. Passwords unlock in memory only.
What is unique about the ICICI parser versus other banks?
Four mutually exclusive layouts; page-1 keys (Saving Account no., Detailed Statement, Tran ID, DATE MODE**) pick the plugin.
